Together, we seek to glorify God and share Christ’s love, upholding the Anglican ethos that all are welcome in this sacred place.

Music at St George’s
Music lies at the heart of worship
A choral tradition renowned throughout Ireland — one of the few remaining men-and-boys choirs in the country, joined by our Female Voice Choir and Chamber Choir, and an historic organ first played by Edward Bunting in 1817.

Our History
The very beginning of Belfast
St George’s stands where the city first took root — the Chapel of the Ford that gave Belfast its name. The present church, designed by John Bowden, opened in 1816, its grand Corinthian portico carried to the city by barge in 1788. Today it is a Grade A listed building, its doors still open.
Community & Outreach
A heart for the city we serve
Beyond worship, St George’s offers hospitality and practical help — a home for Belfast’s Iranian Christian community, recovery fellowship meetings, and outreach to the homeless and vulnerable.
